Begin a fascinating tour across the most famous sites of Nepal, starting with exploring Kathmandu, Bhaktapur, and Patan. With a guided trip to these historical places, you will get acquainted with temples, palaces, squares and become familiar with rich heritage and culture of Kathmandu Valley.

Further, visit the picturesque Pokhara that boasts numerous attractions like Phewa Lake, Mahendra Gupha, Davis Falls, and Seti River gorge. During the journey around Pokhara, you will also be able to enjoy fantastic views of beautiful Himalayas.

Then proceed to the city of Jomsom that is considered as a gateway to the magnificent Annapurna. Being surrounded by the Kali Gandaki River and the mountains Annapurna and Dhaulagiri, this town offers you to get acquainted with breathtaking landscapes, unique cultures, and amazing environments.

And finally, travel to Chitwan National Park that represents the largest wildlife reserve in Nepal and located in Terai Region. There you can spend your time watching unique animals such as one-horned rhinoceros, Royal Bengal tigers, and different species of birds.

Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Arrival in Kathmandu

    Be awed by the breathtaking experience of landing in Kathmandu, when on a bright day, the magnificent range of snow-covered Himalayan peaks greets you as they extend below you. On arrival, you will be warmly received by our professional representative and guide who will then transfer you to your hotel.

    Proceed to check in and rest. Following that, you will have an introductory talk regarding the program for the next few days ahead.

  • Day 2
    Kathmandu Valley Tour

    Start your day after breakfast from the hotel by going on a sightseeing tour of the Kathmandu Valley that includes a visit to the Bhaktapur Durbar Square, a UNESCO World Heritage site which consists of old palaces, temples, and architecture unique to Newars. Further proceed to visit the Pashupatinath Temple, which is regarded as the most sacred temple for Hindus devoted to Lord Shiva, to experience ancient and traditional rituals practiced in the temple. Finally, you will end your day with visiting Boudhanath Stupa, one of the world’s largest stupas. This entire day provides you with a complete cultural experience in Nepal.

  • Day 3
    Flight to Pokhara & Excursion

    Start your day with a rich breakfast, followed by a flight to Pokhara, where you will be dropped at your hotel or resort. Experience the breathtaking views of nature and enjoy the serene environment of Pokhara, exploring places like Gupteshwar Cave, Devi’s Falls, Bindhyabasini Temple, and the Tibetan Refugee Settlement. End the day by having a soothing boat trip at Fewa Lake while admiring the reflection of snow-capped mountains of Annapurna.

  • Day 4
    Flight to Jomsom (20 minutes).

    Following breakfast, proceed to the airport for a brief flight to Jomsom (around 20 minutes), where a magnificent panorama of the Himalayan range and river valleys is waiting to be explored. After checking in, relax for some time before starting your tour of the city and its surroundings. Discover the historic Kingdom of Mustang, and visit the famous religious shrine of Muktinath, where you will learn about the Hindu beliefs and cultural practices that exist in this unique region.

  • Day 5
    Fly to Pokhara (20min), drive to Chitwan (168km/5-6 hrs.).

    Following breakfast, make your way to the local airport and catch a quick flight back to Pokhara, about 20 minutes away, after which you will take off on a beautiful drive to Chitwan, covering a distance of 168 km and taking you anywhere between 5-6 hours. After a hearty lunch at your destination, you can begin exploring the national park that is home to numerous species of plants and animals.

  • Day 6
    Activities in the jungle

    Start with the elephant safari that will give you a different perspective of the jungle, and then attend the elephant briefing session to know more about elephants. Based on the resort you choose, visit either the elephant breeding farm in Sauraha or the Gharial breeding farm in Kasara. Get to enjoy bird watching, a peaceful dug-out canoe ride, and also have a nature walk to see the various plants and animals in the national park. In the evening, participate in the Tharu dance performance and slideshow show.

  • Day 7
    Journey to Kathmandu (168 kilometers / 5-6 hours)

    Having had a fun-filled experience in Royal Chitwan National Park, take the road back to Kathmandu (168 kilometers), spending some time on the way viewing picturesque countryside and quaint rural hamlets. Once there, enjoy the rest of the day doing what you like – shopping in bazaars, taking a walk around the town, visiting religious monuments, etc.>

  • Day 8
    Final Departure.

    Post-breakfast from your hotel, depart to Kathmandu International Airport for onward travel. Bid adieu to Nepal with many fond memories to cherish throughout your life from your travels across Nepal’s landscapes, heritage sites, and wildlife destinations. We will see to it that you depart from Nepal just like the way your tour has been, seamless and unforgettable!

Do's & Don'ts

NHV next heartily welcomes all of our valued guests. Either you are trekking in the mountains or touring the Kathmandu valley we suggest you that you treat the land and its people with care and respect. Below are some tips on how you can keep the environment clean and show appreciation for age-old culture and traditional religious beliefs. Nepal's Culture might be astonishing and surprising for newcomers therefore these tips are sometimes necessary.

  • To show gratitude and respect, use both of your hands rather than one when giving or receiving something, even money. It’s seen as a gesture of respect.
  • Remember not to point with a single finger but use a flat extended hand especially to indicate a sacred object or place.
  • Among Hindus, avoid touching women and holy men. In Nepal, people especially women, do not normally shake hands when they greet one another, but instead press palms together in a prayer-like gesture known as "Namaste" greeting is preferable.
  • Do not eat with your left hand.
  • Never eat beef in front of Hindus and Buddhist because beef is strictly prohibited among both Hindus and Buddhists. Cows are sacred in Nepal.
  • Try not to step over or point your feet at another person, a sacred place or a heart.
  • Remove your shoes when entering a home, temple or monastery and leather items in Hindu temples and avoid smoking and wearing scant dress in religious settings.
  • Remember, some of the temples entrance may be prohibited for non-Hindus.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines, especially if you are non-Hindu.
  • Do not offer food to a Nepalese after tasting it, nor eat from a common pot, and avoid touching your lips to a shared drinking vessel.
  • The sight of men holding hands is common, but men and women holding hands, and general acts of affection, are frowned upon. Do not do something that is totally alien to Nepalese culture.
  • Do walk around Stupas clockwise, so that the outer walls are always on your right. If you encounter a stone wall covered with Tibetan inscriptions, do the same: Walk past with the wall on your right (and don't take any of the stones).
  • Do not lose your cool. Raising your voice or shouting is seen as extremely bad manners in Nepal too and will only make any problem worse.
  • Do get a receipt of in authenticity when purchasing an antique replica. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to take it out of the country. And do not buy ivory or fur from endangered species. Your purchases encourage the trade in such illegal goods, and you would not be allowed to bring them back home anyway.
  • Do not give in to children who ask for just one rupee. Although a rupee is a small amount that anyone can spare, successful begging leads young children to drop out of school and take up panhandling as their trade. If you want to help, give to a trustworthy charity or a school.
  • Do not take photographs of locals, holy shrines and temples unless they have clearly given their consent.
