After heavy rain and landslides during the monsoon season, the famous Annapurna Circuit in Nepal is now open again. This 230 km trekking route through the Himalayas has been fixed and made safer for travelers. Local groups, with help from the Nepal Tourism Board, repaired 15 key trail sections and rebuilt two important bridges in Jhinu and Bhulbhule.

In addition to these repairs, homestays in villages like Bragha and Ghyaru have improved. Now, trekkers can stay with local families, enjoy homemade yak cheese, and sip local millet beer around a warm fire. Money spent at these homestays helps local schools and trail maintenance, making tourism more helpful to the community.

The trail now has new signs with QR codes in seven local languages. These codes give you weather updates, trekking tips, and emergency numbers. Rest spots along the way also have solar charging stations and clean water taps, making the trek more eco-friendly and comfortable.

The best time to trek is in autumn (September to November) and spring (March to May) when the weather is clear and pleasant. You still need two permits: the ACAP permit (NPR 3,000) and the TIMS card (NPR 2,000). If you want extra adventure, you can explore side-trips like Tilicho Lake or visit Upper Mustang for Tibetan culture and stunning views.

Whether you're climbing to the top of Thorung La Pass or soaking in hot springs at Jhinu, the Annapurna Circuit now offers beautiful nature, rich culture, and safer trekking. It's ready for you—stronger and more inviting than ever.
