Kailash wipes out the sins of a lifetime, 108 Parikramas guarantees enlightenment. A ritual bath in the sacred Mansarovar Lake delivers pilgrim to Brahma's paradise and a drop drink of its water relinquishes the sins of hundreds of lifetimes.

Itinerary

  • Day 1
    Pickup from airport or Train station and drive to Nepalgunj

    Upon arrival at the airport or railway station, you will be warmly received and transferred to Nepalgunj by private vehicle

    Enjoy a comfortable drive of approximately 5 hours, passing through scenic landscapes along the way. Upon arrival in Nepalgunj, check in at your selected hotel: Hotel Siddhartha, Hotel Starlight, or Hotel Kalptaru.

    Overnight stay in Nepalgunj.

  • Day 2
    Morning fly to Simikot (3000m). Afternoon visit Shiva Mandir.

    In the morning, transfer to the airport for a scenic flight to Simikot (3,000 m), taking approximately 50 minutes.

    Upon arrival, check in at Sun Valley Resort or a similar hotel. In the afternoon, visit the sacred Shiva Mandir, an important local pilgrimage site. Enjoy the serene mountain surroundings before returning to the hotel.

  • Day 3
    Fly to Hilsa (3700m) by Helicopter & Drive to Purang (3800m).

    After breakfast, board a helicopter flight to Hilsa (3,700 m), enjoying spectacular Himalayan views during the 20-minute journey. Upon arrival, proceed by road to Purang (3,800 m), a drive of approximately 45 minutes.

    After check-in at Hotel Himalaya or New Purang, the remainder of the day is dedicated to acclimatization, allowing your body to adjust to the high altitude.

    Overnight stay in Purang.

  • Day 4
    Drive to Manasarovar Lake (4500m) & Begin Parikrama

    After breakfast, drive to the sacred Manasarovar Lake (4,500 m), a journey of approximately 3 hours through breathtaking Himalayan landscapes.

    Upon arrival, begin the holy Parikrama of Lake Manasarovar (total circuit approx. 105 km).

    Pilgrims will have the opportunity to take a ritual holy bath, perform Puja, and participate in other spiritual activities at this revered site.

    Overnight stay at the Manasarovar Guest House.

  • Day 5
    After lunch drive to Darchen.

    The morning is free to relax and enjoy the serene surroundings of Lake Manasarovar.

    After lunch, drive to Darchen, the base camp for Mount Kailash, by bus (approximately 45 minutes). Upon arrival, check in at Hotel Himalaya.

    The evening is at leisure to rest and prepare for the upcoming Kailash Parikrama.

    Overnight stay in Darchen.

  • Day 6
    Darchen – Yam Dwar – Trek to Diraphuk

    After breakfast, drive to Yam Dwar, the sacred gateway of the Kailash Parikrama (approximately 25 minutes).

    From Yam Dwar, begin the trek towards Diraphuk, a scenic and spiritually significant stop along the route.

    The trek takes around 6–7 hours, passing through breathtaking high-altitude landscapes with close-up views of Mount Kailash

  • Day 7
    Trek via Dolma-La Pass (5550m) to Zuthulphuk

    Early in the morning, continue the Kailash Parikrama by trekking over the sacred Dolma-La Pass (5,550 m), the highest and most challenging point of the journey.

    After offering prayers at the pass, descend gradually and continue the trek to Zuthulphuk, completing a trek of approximately 10–12 hours.

    overnight stay at the Zuthulphuk (Zumthulphuk).

  • Day 8
    Trek to Zhongdo and Drive to Purang/Hilsa

    Begin the day with a scenic trek of approximately 3 hours to Zhongdo, enjoying the tranquil Himalayan surroundings along the route.

    After completing the trek, drive for about 4 hours back to Purang or Hilsa.

    overnight stay at Hotel Himalaya or New Purang.

  • Day 9
    Fly to Simikot/Nepalgunj and Drive to Lucknow

    In the morning, take a short flight of 20–55 minutes to Simikot or Nepalgunj, enjoying aerial views of the Himalayan landscapes.

    Upon arrival, continue your journey by road with a drive to Lucknow, concluding the day’s travel.

Note

Booking and payments
  • As per new rules of Foreign Exchange Center (FEC) trip booking should be done in advance of 45 days.
  • Minimum 6 months’ valid passport is required.
  • Payment before 45 days prior to tour departure date 50% of the total amount should be reach in our office account by telex transfer with passport copy of front and last page.
  • And full payment should be made 25 days before departure to Kailash Manasarovar Yatra.
  • Original passport should be reached 20 days prior to the yatra at Delhi Office.
Important information about Kailash yatari

Please carry at least INR 60,000 by cash or convertible currency for extra expenses such as accommodation at hotel / guest houses due to any reasons, like permit delay by FEC, Visa delay by China Embassy in Delhi, domestic flight cancellation due to bad weather etc. Any extra cost incurred thereof shall be borne by the clients on the spot.

Permit Procedure

According to the different group entry date, the documents for permit application must be submitted at least 40 days before the group entry.

Tour Cancellation policy
  • All notice of cancellation must be sent to our office in written.
  • Verbal cancellations will not be entertained.
  • More than 15 days prior to entry date: US$ 150 per person.
  • Within 7 days prior to entry date (including 7 days) US$ 400 per person equivalent to convertible currency.
Refund:

No any refund will be made to any tour member in-case of incomplete yatra due to what so ever reason.

Holy Water of Manasarovar:

As per FEC agreement, the water of Lake Manasarovar is strictly prohibited to be taken abroad by Pilgrims and Staff.

70 Age Above Policy:

The following documents should be submitted for these pilgrims:

(1) Health examination report within 6 months by Indian public hospital. Content of the report should include doctor’s judgement and suggestion whether the pilgrim’s physical condition is suitable for the plateau areas (4000m).

(2) Application by the pilgrim, to express the intention to do the pilgrimage in Kailash Region. The application should be signed and fingerprinted by the pilgrim and two direct relatives, who will judge whether to allow the pilgrim entry to Kailash region. These two relatives guarantee to pilgrims over 70 years of age. Pilgrims suffering from high blood pressure, heart disease, asthma and other diseases which are not suitable for entering plateau areas cannot apply the permit.

70 years age and above need to deposit security money of US$ 1000 for Kailash yatra, this amount is refundable basis. If the pilgrim died not for reasons, your security deposit US$ 1000 will not be refunded.

 

Cancellation by the Company

We may be obliged to cancel your trip by reasons like border closed, permit not issued or cancelled by the government, war, riots, civil disturbances, strikes, natural disasters, terrorist activities or threat of such and closure of airport etc. although this never happened. Under such circumstance we will advise you for an alternative trip of comparable standard or make a refund of the money paid to us after deducting the expenses that was spent to make the bookings of the domestic flights, visa, permit, hotels/guest houses and vehicle. A clear bill of the expenses will be provided to you so that you will be able to claim the insurance. However, will refuse to give you entry from border authority even if you have permit to enter if they think you are not eligible on their criteria. Please do not start our journey until you get confirmation of permit.

Important per-Departure Information:
Clothing:

Casual wears and comfortable walking shoes are the rule of Tibet, be sure to bring warm clothing as nights and early mornings can be quite chilly to cold. Indian Pilgrims are advised strictly not to wear Sari during the Yatra. Bring all the film, medicine, cosmetics, personal toilet items etc. that you will need from home as these are difficult on some of the part of the area. A small first aid kit is also a good idea.

What to Take:

Winter wear, Gore-Tex material, though expensive, is highly recommended. Down jacket, raincoat or windbreakers, thermal under wear, jackets, warm trousers and woolen shirts (cotton will also do), warm sweaters, woolen gloves, sun hat, comfortable shoes, light leather boots in case of show, woolen balaclava (monkey cap) and scarf / dust mask to protect your eyes and nose from dust.

Bring with you:

You may bring the snacks for along the way such as chocolates, dry fruits, toffees, glucose, namkeen etc. strong water bottle and water purifying tablets. Personal medical kit and Diamox tablet (for high altitude). Sunglasses (to protect your eye from UV, which is especially strong in high altitudes). Sun block or sunscreen lotion, wet tissues (fresh ones are excellent to wipe off the dust). Clothesline / Clips, needle and thread, body spray (handy for smelly boot/feet and for a round of spray in the toilet tent) toilet paper, torch and spare batteries, daypack (mall shoulder bag), camera films and binocular.

Health:

This is one of the toughest high-altitude road journeys on earth. You must be physically fit; generally patients with asthma have a problem on high altitudes. In your interests it is essential you should be examined by your doctor to know about your health condition and your ability to cope up with the rigors of high-altitude travel for days. Extreme cold, trekking to an altitude of 18500ft during the Parikrama etc.

Altitude Sickness:

As you are traveling over high terrain, you are likely to experience symptoms and discomfort of altitude sickness (headache, loss of appetite, nausea, exhaustion, sleeplessness, breathlessness etc.) until your body adjusts to the elevation. Drink plenty of water, be calm, and do not do exercise. Do not drink alcohol or smoke prior to and during the tour. We also recommend you to carry a strip of Diamox tablets. We provide Gamow bag (a special equipment to prevent sickness from high altitude) on this tour.

Currency:
  • The unit of Chinese currency is Yuan, 1 Yuan=INR 12 approx.
  • Money can be exchanged at Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Hilsa or Purang.
Risk and Liabilities:
  • We always give our best effort to make your journey smooth and pleasant. However, as all the Tibet tours and treks are run strictly under Foreign Exchange Center of Tibet Autonomous Region. Nepal Himalayan Voyages or its Tibet counterpart agent shall not be responsible for any alternation or cancellation of program due to any unavoidable circumstances beyond control such as road blockade, landslide, snow, political unrest cancellation of flight, delay arrival, lack of transport, visa rejected by Chinese authorities, sickness or accident. Any extra cost incurring there of shall be borne by the clients on the spot. Since, Tibet is very remote place and road are very rough sometime good vehicle may break.
  • We highly advised to the clients to have full insurance against medical, trip cancellation and personal accident risk.

Do's & Don'ts

NHV next heartily welcomes all of our valued guests. Either you are trekking in the mountains or touring the Kathmandu valley we suggest you that you treat the land and its people with care and respect. Below are some tips on how you can keep the environment clean and show appreciation for age-old culture and traditional religious beliefs. Nepal's Culture might be astonishing and surprising for newcomers therefore these tips are sometimes necessary.

  • To show gratitude and respect, use both of your hands rather than one when giving or receiving something, even money. It’s seen as a gesture of respect.
  • Remember not to point with a single finger but use a flat extended hand especially to indicate a sacred object or place.
  • Among Hindus, avoid touching women and holy men. In Nepal, people especially women, do not normally shake hands when they greet one another, but instead press palms together in a prayer-like gesture known as "Namaste" greeting is preferable.
  • Do not eat with your left hand.
  • Never eat beef in front of Hindus and Buddhist because beef is strictly prohibited among both Hindus and Buddhists. Cows are sacred in Nepal.
  • Try not to step over or point your feet at another person, a sacred place or a heart.
  • Remove your shoes when entering a home, temple or monastery and leather items in Hindu temples and avoid smoking and wearing scant dress in religious settings.
  • Remember, some of the temples entrance may be prohibited for non-Hindus.
  • It is better not to touch offerings or persons when they are on way to shrines, especially if you are non-Hindu.
  • Do not offer food to a Nepalese after tasting it, nor eat from a common pot, and avoid touching your lips to a shared drinking vessel.
  • The sight of men holding hands is common, but men and women holding hands, and general acts of affection, are frowned upon. Do not do something that is totally alien to Nepalese culture.
  • Do walk around Stupas clockwise, so that the outer walls are always on your right. If you encounter a stone wall covered with Tibetan inscriptions, do the same: Walk past with the wall on your right (and don't take any of the stones).
  • Do not lose your cool. Raising your voice or shouting is seen as extremely bad manners in Nepal too and will only make any problem worse.
  • Do get a receipt of in authenticity when purchasing an antique replica. Otherwise, you will not be allowed to take it out of the country. And do not buy ivory or fur from endangered species. Your purchases encourage the trade in such illegal goods, and you would not be allowed to bring them back home anyway.
  • Do not give in to children who ask for just one rupee. Although a rupee is a small amount that anyone can spare, successful begging leads young children to drop out of school and take up panhandling as their trade. If you want to help, give to a trustworthy charity or a school.
  • Do not take photographs of locals, holy shrines and temples unless they have clearly given their consent.
